Answersing the many common questions and objections concerning the Christian faith

From the time we make Jesus our Lord and Saviour until the time we will see him in our heavenly home, we are each on a journey of faith. In his collection of short teaching books, Jim Bryden draws alongside us as a travel companion, helping us to understand the map of God’s Word and to avoid dead-ends and danger zones along the path.

This fourth book in the series answers many common questions and objections concerning the Christian faith, leading to a challenge to follow Jesus, and ultimately to share this faith with others.

Drawing on wide reading, personal experience and biblical study, Jim Bryden invites his readers to think, pray and talk together about important questions that challenge believers today.

About the Author

Jim Bryden

Jim Bryden

As a young teenager and non-churchgoer, Jim had a Damascus Road encounter with Christ which was to lead him into ministry in The Salvation Army. He and his wife Helen were ordained and commissioned as officers in 1968 and served in Scotland, South America, Zim-babwe and England.

Always a pastor and preacher first, he’s held a variety of posts as a tutor and lecturer in Bible studies and Theology at The Salvation Army’s International College in London and as Training Principal in Zimbabwe.

Besides academic and pastoral responsibilities, for the last six years of active ministry he held the post of Territorial Ecumenical officer for the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland.
He holds a Bachelor of Divinity degree (Glasgow) and a Masters in Systematic Theology from King’s College London.

Drawing on wide reading, personal experience and biblical study, Jim Bryden invites his readers to think, pray and talk together about important questions that challenge believers today. On the fifth and final stage of his Journey of Faith he poses thought-provoking questions about  God’s relation to the created world, the reality of heaven and hell, and the role of religion in society. He then turns to more personal topics: What does it mean to ‘walk with God’? How can Christians share their faith with others? Jim’s Journey ends, as it began, with prayer.

Lieut-Colonel Ian Barr, B.D., M.A

In his final book in this series, Jim Bryden considers matters that are collectively described in Christian theology as ‘Last Things.’  Heaven, hell, and the hereafter are dealt with alongside thoughts about the redemption of all Creation and ultimate questions on the reign of God.

As with his earlier volumes, Jim brings his own insights after long years in Christian life and ministry to the task. All this viewed through an essentially conservative evangelical lens.
