Jackie Slough is first and foremost a Christian, also a wife, mother and businesswoman. She became an author after the suicide of her youngest son Tom at the age of sixteen in 2004. She felt compelled to write the events of the first week after Tom’s death ñ so as not to forget what happened, as there were so many ‘God moments’ ñ and continued for the next five years in journal form to capture each event and emotion as the family struggled to find a new ‘normal’. She now owns and runs a Tea Room with Alan, her husband, and as a couple they speak to various groups about their journey so far.
